Ingredients
Sub
- 1 footlong Italian herb bread
- 4 slices turkey breast (deli counter)
- 4 slices ham
- 6 rashers streaky bacon
- 4 slices American cheese
- Shredded lettuce
- Tomato, sliced
Ranch dressing
- 4 tbsp mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp buttermilk
- 1 tsp dried dill
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper
Method
- Ranch. Whisk all dressing ingredients.
- Cook bacon. Pan-fry (or air-fry) bacon until crispy. Drain on kitchen paper.
- Toast. Brush bread with olive oil. Toast cut-side down for 2–3 minutes.
- Layer meats. Pile turkey, ham, bacon onto the bread.
- Cheese. Lay American cheese slices on top. Return to the oven (or under the grill) for 2 minutes until melted.
- Finish. Add lettuce, tomato. Slather with ranch. Close, slice, serve.
Tips
- The cheese melt is the whole point. American cheese > cheddar for melting.
- Three meats + ranch + toasted bread = indulgent. One of the best subs on the menu.
- Toast the bread properly. Cold bread turns this into a sandwich.
